It could be you, is a film about the lives of an Indian family, living in the UK of today, and is narrated through running parallels to highlight the clashes and turning points between the 1st and 2nd generation, with a tongue in cheek humor.

Dhillon is a 50-year-old, first generation immigrant from India who has spent 30 years of his life working as a baggage handler at Heathrow and living in a simple 3-bedroom semi in the heart of Southall.

He lives there with his elderly father, a wife who wears the pants in the house, and 3 grown up children. Kamaljit (Kam), Devdeep (Dave).Baljit (Bal), now getting married to her loser boyfriend Sunny. His eldest son 26-year-old yuppie Asst. Bank Manager Karandeep (Kaz) lives separately with his English wife.

The Dhillons are a family who have fragmented as a unit and everyone is busy living their individual lives. The entire family only acknowledges Dhillon as a person who happens to be the man to have provided for them, but has not been able to keep up with the changing times and pace of modern day life.

Dhillon is a suppressed man by one and all in his family, whose only friends and well – wishers are his work colleagues.

Life for Dhillon is a daily struggle, until one fine day he hits the “jackpot” and wins the millions he had dreamt of, all his life.

Dhillon decides to put everyone straight – he buys the big house, the big car and all the trappings of the wealthy. He keeps his blood sucking family at an arms length, he even appoints a PA so that his family and other gold diggers have to make an appointment to see him.

It is now that the Dhillon clan shows their true colors and how Dhillon settles the score, in what becomes a roller-coaster ride of fun and frolic with a dose of emotion.

Dhillon is played by the immensely talented Naseeruddin Shah and Mrs Dhillon by the irrepressible Kirron Kher.
